Last week at work we got the wrong shipment in. Instead of receiving several pallets of iPhone cases, we got a bunch of free weights and kettle bells. The address of the shipment was totally wrong and was for a gym across town. None of us could figure how this mistake was made, and we figured that the delivery person just made a serious mistake. Within a few days we were able to straighten everything out, but in the interim we missed out on making some pretty good sales. My manager wasn’t too pleased about this, but he is a very enlightened man and realized that there wasn’t all that much he could do about it.
But then it really upset all of us when it happened again. Today we got four pallets of Blackberry cases, which wasn’t at all what we had ordered. This time our manager got absolutely livid and went right to the phone. He got the vendor on the line and started screaming at him, demanding that he reimburse us for our time and lost sales, or that he would be suing him in civil court. I don’t know how this is going to play out, but in all the time that I’ve been working here I’ve never seen my manager this mad.
